06/09/01 Multiple Performance Profiles for same N#(Reg. Number or Call Sign)
Note: This is an option for pilots that are very familiar with using FltPlan.com's CUSTOM AIRCRAFT PERFORMANCE and FUEL BURN CALCULATIONS. We don't recommend using Performance Profiles for newer users to FltPlan.com
You can now have different performance profiles for the same N#(Call Sign). This is useful for pilots that would like the flexibility of having different stored profiles for various types of flight missions.
You can create a HIGH SPEED PROFILE or a HEAVY WEIGHT PROFILE or an ECON PROFILE or any type profile you would like to enter.
This is most beneficial for larger aircraft that can have a wider range of weight possibilities and speed options.
By having different Performance Profiles available, you can easily select the profile desired, and obtain more accurate ETE's and Fuel Burn info.
To enter different profiles for an aircraft, go to the Change or Add Aircraft section ( from the Main Menu Page) and enter in the A/C N# box the registration number with a '-'(dash) and a letter or number after it.
Some examples are:
N1234A-H
N1234A-F
N1234A-E
N1234A-3
In the above examples, N1234A is the aircraft's registration number. The -H or the -F or the -E can be any single letter you would like to use. In this case the -H might refer to a Heavy Weight profile. The -F might refer to a Fast or High Speed profile. -E for ECON speed.
or you can just use a number(i.e. N1234A-3) to identify the different profiles
The -H or -F or whatever you used, will be stripped out for display on the NavLog and when filing your flight plan through FltPlan.com.
You can find instructions on entering multiple profiles by selecting HELP on the Change or Add Aircraft page. As always, you can also e-mail us with any questions you might have.
04/29/01 Fuel Burn Calculations by the Hourly Method
In addition to our Advanced Fuel Burn Calculations, we now have the capability for pilots to use the Hourly Fuel Burn Method. This is the way a lot of you have been doing fuel burn calculations. For example, this is the method where you might say the first hour you burn 1900 lbs, the second hour 1700 lbs, third hour 1600 lbs etc. etc. You can enter these values by going to Custom Aircraft, select your aircraft to customize, and then fill in the necessary information. The two methods are totally independent of each other and can both be activated, both off or one method on and one method off. They can also be used as a cross check if desired. The Fuel Burn number will be displayed on the NavLog near the arrival airport information. In keeping with our policy of giving terrible instructions(mostly because none of you read them anyway), please feel free to e-mail us if you have any questions or problems.
